Fall Semester Sept 30 to Dec 1
Skill Levels – Advanced, Pro and Intermediate Kayakers
For decades pro kayakers have been drawn to Pucóns creeks and rivers during the spring runoff months. And for good reason. Every valley and drainage in Chiles Rivers District transforms into magical playgrounds of cascades, slides, boofs and stouts. This is the optimum time of year to catch the best flows, videos, and really learn how to run class V whitewater or even develop on the easier stretches.
Program Highlights – An expedition north following warmer weather exploring the world’s greatest waterfall heaven, the Rio Claro. Students earn professional certifications in ACA Kayak Instruction and AWFA.
Program Tips : Bring a dry suit and down jacket. When it rains it gets cold too. Dinners back at base will be warm in the movie dome or around the fire.
Who should apply?

- Intermediate to expert kayakers interested in earning their ACA Kayak Instructor and AWFA certifications.

Spring Semester Feb 24 to April 27
Skill Levels – Beginners, Intermediates and Student Coaches (Expert)
Description – This time of year is the Chilean summer. The Patagonia weather is warm, beautiful and the rivers are at lower manageable levels perfect for practicing your combat roll. The program starts fast with our dream “Road to Futa” road trip of a lifetime. Beginner and intermediate kayakers daily practice the fundamentals of ferrying, boat control, blade usage, combat rolling and gaining confidence. You’ll be amazed by how much you improve. Would you believe that by the end of this program beginners end up running 20-foot cascades on the Upper Palguin?
Expert kayakers should apply for a student coaching position. Student coaches learn how to teach and instruct in real-world settings and gain their ACA Kayak Instructor Certification in the process. Student coaches also get the benefit of running bigger sections with the staff crew.
Program Highlights Road to Futa is the road trip of a lifetime. Run your first waterfalls. Overnight raft support camp trip on the San Pedro. Weekend beach surf trip.

Description – Parents and students asked, Do you offer a trip during the holidays? We didnt but it did not take us long to get excited about kayaking over the holidays. We understand many students just can not take a semester off and this holiday escape has quickly became one of our most popular programs. Due to mandated course hours we had to choose just one academic course. Students overwhelmingly voted on Video Production. But if you are interested in other courses just ask and we will see what we can do.
The holidays are perfect in Chile with sunny weather and good river flows. You will explore the first leg of your trip from your Pucón base to day runs. Your second leg of your trip will be yours or your groups trip to plan and execute. Will you go north to the Claro, Maipo, Nuble, or Laja Valleys? What about some time surfing at the beach? Or how about heading south We know you dont know Chile logistics. YET! We will make sure you do by the time you plan your trip. The only problem is that you will wish you had a full semester with us.
